Welcome to Remembering Natalie.
This blog has been created by us, Natalie's mom and sisters, to share with all of you, glimpses of her amazing 23 years of life.
This is not meant to be a sad look back . . . but more a way to tell her story and keep her memory as bright as her life was.
Our hope is that here, you'll find good doses of laughter, her great recipes,
our random thoughts and memories, and maybe a few tears.
We are not what you would call the "pro-active" type . . .
but this is our attempt to aid in the awareness of DVT and Factor V Leiden,
the conditions that ended her life here on earth.
We hope you'll check in every-so-often, and if you have any stories of her . . . please, do tell!
If you didn't know Natalie, get to know her by reading her story found at the bottom of the page . . .
So thanks for visiting & come back as often as you'd like!
"Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family.
One day each of us will run out of tomorrows"

The Red Carpet....

Inspired by the Oscars and the critique of the "Red Carpet"...

I give you.....{drum roll please}

Natalie's Red Carpet Moments

Don't let the "apple" decor distract you. {this must have been my "country" phase?} Loved this simple black dress...Natalie looked beautiful.

Metallics must have been "in" this year. And the gloves and wrap? OH my. Natalie, beautiful as ever.

The Asian flair....you have to be super confident to pull off this hot RED number! ...which did not fit right at all...but as always, Natalie looked beautiful anyway

Cinderella called...she want's her dress back...... I think we used this as a costume after the dance was over....but for the moment, Natalie looked like a princess

Can't beat a simple classic black velvet dress. ~ Natalie, simply beautiful.

Kelly...this ones for you! It's the fabulous "purple wonder" I made for the 5th grade dance! {what the perm?}

~As beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside~
~I'm sure more beautiful today....if only our eye's could see~

25 + a few more...Things about Natalie...

Between Stefanie, Melanie and I, we came up with some of the things that we love to remember about Natalie.....and laughed, giggled...and smiled as we reminiced. 25 things wasn't enough..and even at that, I've saved some for another day. When you are done reading through these you will know the Natalie that we love and miss so very much~

1. She wore Abercrombie & Fitch perfume
2. She loved Victoria Secret Love Spell lotion
3. A favorite quick treat she would make was Cheerios warmed up with butter and sugar
4. She was the fastest haircutter and so good.
5. It made her so mad if Colby, or anyone for that matter, ate her french fries, especially if they ate more than one at a time.
6. She was famous for her "pose" she always made in her prom dresses.
7. She loved to watch the Bachelor
8. She didn't like going to the store by herself...or anywhere by herself!
9. She loved FS (Fantastic Sams) shampoo and conditioner
10. She always had black feet because she was always barefoot
11. She hated a pedicure ? this I don't understand...I think her feet were too ticklish!
12. She loved "Iron Chef" and the food network...she was a awesome cook, and would experiment and try any recipe
13. Her favorite pizza was Pepperoni and Pineapple
14. She was a good shot with a gun...and loved to go skeet shooting
15. She wore little white slippers under her wedding gown...which was funny because she ALWAYS wore TALL shoes
16. She loved Alice in Wonderland
17. She made a mean batch of Lemonbars, homemade Oreo cookies and "buttcheese" (a.k.a. magic cookie bars)
18. She loved working at her dad's golfcourse...and backing the golf carts down the drive into the garage...she thought it was fun...it scared Stefanie to death.
19. When Noah was a baby, she made sure his blanket would match his outfit and even his p.j's..this was non-negotiable.
20. She was a Madrigal at Dixie High...and sang "Santa Baby" to Principal Hammer at the Christmas assembly...(is this on tape somewhere?)
21. She was the worlds greatest camper even though she was a total PRISS!
22. She ALWAYS dated younger guys so it was kind of ironic that she married someone older.
23. She and Annie sluffed and ditched school one too many times....got caught by her Dad..and got "The Elantra" taken away....they both saw the "rath of Kent" that day!
24. She had the messiest room, closet, drawers growing up...it drove us all nuts!
25. She was a gum chewer...LOVED sugar free gum, and would leave little chewed up gum EVERYWHERE...on her bedpost, nightstand.. What was with that? seriously.
26. She LOVED to buy clothes for Noah...she couldn't resist a new outfit for him...Melanie would secretly "bail" her out when her checkbook was...ummm, in the negative. (shhh..don't tell Colby)
27. She hated calling to order food, or to make appointments...and would always make someone else do it for her....( I know where this comes from...her Dad is the same way)
28. Egg Drop soup....she LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it...Chinese food was her favorite
29. She loved Lavendar Roses.
30. One of her favorite dinners was Stuffed Green Peppers with rice (more on rice #31)..and ironically, I made it for her the night before she passed away when she was on bedrest. I haven't made them since...
31. She loved Rice...fried rice, rice with butter, rice pudding, sticky rice, chicken and rice soup, ANY Rice...this is a understatement....I think she could have lived on Rice and been happy.
32. In high school, Reagan (now Stefanie's husband) would put Natalie's bra on his head and call himself "The Fly"... ?
33. She always had Gold'n Soft margarine in the fridge because it was Colby's favorite
34. She was petrified of the Dentist and would have to take Valium to be able to make it through a dental visit and when possible she would be put "out".
35. She loved Horchata @ Cafe Rio
36. When she was in hair school and needed to practice a manicure on us...she made up this silly "jingle song" about this nail polish called "Out the Door"...(it supposidly would make your polish dry faster) we would laugh our guts out while she put this polish on and would sing this dumb song....I can actually hear it now....and I'm seriously laughing.
