Welcome to Remembering Natalie.
This blog has been created by us, Natalie's mom and sisters, to share with all of you, glimpses of her amazing 23 years of life.
This is not meant to be a sad look back . . . but more a way to tell her story and keep her memory as bright as her life was.
Our hope is that here, you'll find good doses of laughter, her great recipes,
our random thoughts and memories, and maybe a few tears.
We are not what you would call the "pro-active" type . . .
but this is our attempt to aid in the awareness of DVT and Factor V Leiden,
the conditions that ended her life here on earth.
We hope you'll check in every-so-often, and if you have any stories of her . . . please, do tell!
If you didn't know Natalie, get to know her by reading her story found at the bottom of the page . . .
So thanks for visiting & come back as often as you'd like!

A Simple Makeup Bag...full of memories

A simple Makeup bag...worn, (I don't want to say old) but yes, old..dirty with makeup dusted all over inside..
one I hadn't seen in almost

7 years
her sister has kept it next to her makeup bag all this time...
"they're friends" she told me..

Natalie's Makeup Bag

~

Seeing it reminded me

of her beautiful face..

with or without the makeup

I unzipped it...it holds a flood of memories

There it all was..

memories of the shimmery Lip Lite's lip gloss

the Clinique "stay neutral" powder

mascara and an eye lash curler..still with built up eye shadow on it
yes, even the little pot of glitter for the corner of her eyes...
that made them sparkle just that much more..

Memories of her sisters and I

applying it ..one last time

giggling as girls do...along with her, as Natalie was very present there.

so honored that her sisters and I could do this for her

remembering how amazed we were that day

at her long full lashes..

that she never had

except for when it counted..

never forgetting her beautiful smile

and sparkling eyes...

with or without makeup

tiny treasures...
that light up a memory.
So thankful that Miss Natalie has all of you to keep her memory alive until you all get to be together again.

Love this! I believe a make up bag tells a lot about a girl. Nat must have worn the best because she was always beautiful.
