Welcome to Remembering Natalie.
This blog has been created by us, Natalie's mom and sisters, to share with all of you, glimpses of her amazing 23 years of life.
This is not meant to be a sad look back . . . but more a way to tell her story and keep her memory as bright as her life was.
Our hope is that here, you'll find good doses of laughter, her great recipes,
our random thoughts and memories, and maybe a few tears.
We are not what you would call the "pro-active" type . . .
but this is our attempt to aid in the awareness of DVT and Factor V Leiden,
the conditions that ended her life here on earth.
We hope you'll check in every-so-often, and if you have any stories of her . . . please, do tell!
If you didn't know Natalie, get to know her by reading her story found at the bottom of the page . . .
So thanks for visiting & come back as often as you'd like!
"Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family.
One day each of us will run out of tomorrows"

Gone too soon....

This is Melynda...

I dont know Melynda..
but Natalie does

They went to high school together
in the same graduating class
They were in Choir together

Melynda passed away unexpectedly
Jan. 11
married...and a mother to 3 beautiful little girls

I came across her obituary in our newspaper
and wondered why this beautiful young woman
was gone too soon

All the feelings of Natalie's passing
rushed back to me like it was yesterday

I went to her blog melyndasstatus.blogspot.com
and read her story...
and my heart broke for her family
her parents
her sweet husband
her 3 beautiful little girls

I'm so very thankful that
Natalie ...knows her

she knew Melynda here...
she knows Melynda there..

And for me there is comfort in knowing
that these two beautiful young women
who are gone too soon....

are not far away...
and that
friendships and acquaintances
last beyond the veil...

in the words of Joseph Smith, that “the only difference between the old and young dying is, one lives longer in heaven [the spirit world] and eternal light and glory than the other, and is freed a little sooner from this miserable wicked world. Notwithstanding all this glory, we for a moment lose sight of it,
and mourn the loss, but we do not mourn as those without hope.”

My heart goes out to Melynda's family
you are in my thoughts and prayers

I am a Natalie Blog stalker :) My son Durban was in Noah's class last year and they were cute friends. I also went to school with Melanie from elementary up! Melynda was my YW leader and camp director when I was a teenager and helped keep me on the right track by her example. Her memorial service was healing and special. She had it rough and was in pain for many years towards the end of her life, but now she feels only joy. It is unfair that these beautiful mothers have to watch their babies grow up from afar, but the lives they touched here on earth with their examples have helped many who are struggling or have struggled, myself included. I am thankful for the Gospel and the comforting knowledge that it is not goodbye forever! Hopefully Natalie is up there with Melynda showing her the ropes, I'm sure they are doing great work together :) Thank you for sharing your stories of Natalie :)

I remember Melynda from high school. She was a great person who was always positive. I had the opportunity to run into her last year while I was shooting photos for her brother's wedding. I hadn't seen her in 10 years, it was fun to catch up and meet her family. Best wishes and thoughts to her family.
