Welcome to Remembering Natalie.
This blog has been created by us, Natalie's mom and sisters, to share with all of you, glimpses of her amazing 23 years of life.
This is not meant to be a sad look back . . . but more a way to tell her story and keep her memory as bright as her life was.
Our hope is that here, you'll find good doses of laughter, her great recipes,
our random thoughts and memories, and maybe a few tears.
We are not what you would call the "pro-active" type . . .
but this is our attempt to aid in the awareness of DVT and Factor V Leiden,
the conditions that ended her life here on earth.
We hope you'll check in every-so-often, and if you have any stories of her . . . please, do tell!
If you didn't know Natalie, get to know her by reading her story found at the bottom of the page . . .
So thanks for visiting & come back as often as you'd like!

Everything I know...I learned in Kindergarten....

All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be
I learned in kindergarten.
These are the things I learned.
Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life-learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some. Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together. Remember the little seed in the styrofoam cup: The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why,
but we are all like that.
Noah... watching you start your first day of Kindergarten
is harder than I ever thought it would be....
I will be brave...
you have taught me much more than I ever learned in Kindergarten....and
I'm ready to watch you learn and grow beyond the little giant you already are!

I love this quote Sherie, I'm going to have to print this off, it is perfect. Noah is getting so big and handsome and I love reading all about him and the rest of your darling family.

I happened upon this beautiful memorial for a woman that I never knew, but I know that I will never forget the feelings I felt reading her story and seeing how much her family loves her.

Sherie,

I received an email about our high school reunion and saw this site for Nat. Although I had been at Natalie's funeral and known about her passing, I never fully knew the story behind it. I want you to know that I had the warmest feeling come over me as I read the story. Sherie, back in high school and middle, Natalie was my best friend and she made such an impact on my life. I can't help when I see Mark or Annie but think about Nat and the night we met on the Simkins trampoline. I can think of story after story about our friendship. What an amazing girl she is, and still is on the other side. You couldn't help smiling around her. It was just natural. Just wanted you to know that I am thankful for the years that I knew her. You have wonderful daughters! Much Love. -Cody
