Welcome to Remembering Natalie.
This blog has been created by us, Natalie's mom and sisters, to share with all of you, glimpses of her amazing 23 years of life.
This is not meant to be a sad look back . . . but more a way to tell her story and keep her memory as bright as her life was.
Our hope is that here, you'll find good doses of laughter, her great recipes,
our random thoughts and memories, and maybe a few tears.
We are not what you would call the "pro-active" type . . .
but this is our attempt to aid in the awareness of DVT and Factor V Leiden,
the conditions that ended her life here on earth.
We hope you'll check in every-so-often, and if you have any stories of her . . . please, do tell!
If you didn't know Natalie, get to know her by reading her story found at the bottom of the page . . .
So thanks for visiting & come back as often as you'd like!

My Little White Dress~

melanie...

and me in my
{ little white dress }

This little white dress is old, or I guess I would prefer words like "vintage" or "heirloom" although that conjours up thoughts of me being old and vintage and I really don't feel old or vintage, however, this is my little white dress that I wore when I turned one year old.

No need for me to clarify how old I am now, suffice it to say that this little white dress has been around for a while.
When Natalie turned one, I put her in my little white dress and had her picture taken in it...it never looked so beautiful and new....a heirloom tradition started back then. Stefanie and Melanie turned one and they too wore my little white dress. I had dreams of one day having granddaughters that would wear my little white dress as they turned one year old.

As I said in my previous post on how fast time seems to be speeding along, unbelieveably I am getting ready to see my granddaughters wearing my little white dress as they turn one year old! It's little ruffles and ribbons will be worn by granddaughters yet to come, and great grandaughters after them and on and on...and my little white dress will tell a story of baby girls with button noses and chubby cheeks and twinkling eyes turning one year old.
~Who knew a little white dress could create so many memories~

After an hour in bed sure that I was soooo tired. A hot flash hit and no sleep for me. So I am at the computer surfing and I am so glad I checked for new blog posts.

Precious baby girls all wearing the same dress... special indeed.

I love how you have the white dress photographs displayed in the bedroom. What a fun thing to pass down to your daughter and their girls. I wish i had something to pass on to my boys.
